Brute forcing only works, if the password is significantly shorter than the message AND the message has certain patterns (like words or phrases). If you have neither, its impossible to crack. If it were real-life malicious cracking, you probably wouldn't have the password, but I would say that both options are acceptable, however if the encryption uses a password and the decrypter works without a password arg, the cracking team earns extra points(the actual amount is TBD) SaiidYou need either the encrypted message + password or the encrypted message + a couple of message/encryped message pairs (with the same password) to decrypt anything.
